The Lilies' Whispers

So I asked the Lilies,

Lilies, why are you so sad? They whispered, but I could not hear Speak louder, I quietly requested for I did not want to startle them The Lilies whispered in response Why are you so sad Lilies? Why when I wake do I see you with tears? Lilies, are you dissatisfied?

The Lilies whispered softer yet.. I leaned in closer, to hear them better I leaned in close, and heard their soft crying Why Lilies, why are you so sad? Their crying became quieter.. and they answered We see the beauty of the sun.. set and rise We hear the beauty of the quiet bird's songs We feel the earth beneath us, humble and great We wish to share these with you.. This is why we cry

Lilies, I answered, tears threatening my eyes, I see the beauty, and hear the songs.. Girl, why are you crying? I see the beauty of crying Lilies, and hear the quiet beauty of their sad lullabies. copyright--LadyLeven 2008
